This is the first blog in our designer series where we are going to tell you a little more about the designers we have at Assemblage Project.
New to Assemblage Project is the label SZN. Now based in Melbourne, SZN is an independent label run by Suzan Dloughy. Suzan established her SZN in Canberra in 2012.
The appeal of the Susan's label is its focus on simplicity and beautiful craftsmanship used to produce soulful and intelligent garments. Her garments are refined through time, contemplation and work; design that hopes to provoke and highlight the wearers non-conforming spirit.
Using this process-based design approach Susan's current collection (available in store now) considers minimal waste through reductive pattern-making. Like origami for the body each garment is made from a 150cm square piece of fabric. The garments feature sustainable textiles such as hemp and organic cotton, which are hard-wearing and develop character with use.
Employing a neutral palette of ivory, black and chambray, these unisex pieces are layerable, easy wearing and cater to sizes 8 - 20.
